Lots of guilt....please forgive me!!

I am so sorry I've been neglecting my sweet little Bloggie. Sometimes he's just a BIG pain in my butt and quite honestly I don't feel like doing it most days. But have no worries as I have lots to share with you on this lovely and warm evening as I sit here and watch Ugly Betty. First up the *Manly card* I promised last week showcasing my new and improved faux button skills I learned from Sherry. I've been passing it along to my friends/students so sew on sisters!! I really do love buttons and that's all due to my good friend Wendy. This card has an antique button on it so its extra special to me and I think I did a fine job cropping it. Ohh la la. Back to my button fetish. Wendy and I have gone antiquing a few times and I actually started to enjoy it more and more each time. When I grew up in New England I was constantly around antiques and I developed a love/hate relationship for them. We won't even get into Oriental rugs tonight! I did attend several auctions with my aunt and uncle (they were antique dealers) and my grandparents. I didn't really care too much for antiques because it seemed I was always dusting them or hand washing fine china and other special dishes at our large family holiday gatherings. And, spring and fall cleaning....double yuck!! Oh there's more but I won't get into it all now. I had to hand wash all those dishes, glassware, and nick knacks. So what I'm getting at is I never wanted to go antiquing with Wendy but I started to love it when we went a few times in northern MN especially in Crosby, MN. I began to get a high from the hunt!! Then Wendy got me into old photos. I was her private shopper. I knew what she liked in a photo. And when I scored, I loved my findings! Some of those babies (buttons) are on my cards and are used in my classes. Imagine that. Lastly I worked for two BIG antique dealers in NH and I had to pack and unpack lots of dishes from big semis. So who knew several years later while living in MN I'd love antiques again. Sorry to bore you with this big long story. Tami :]"

PS...My little college niece taught me a new smiley face today. I love it! I now totally dig Facebook another new thing I love to waste time on. OK I better get real and post more cards. Isn't that what stampers do on their blogs and pimp product??? Well I'm telling you to look at buttons in a whole new way. Tonight my entries will focus on buttons. Have a good evening and thanks for stopping by. I did have blog troubles a few days ago and a big chunks of my blog diaappeard. It was so scaray. I got so frustrated I just threw the towel in. Speaking of pimping stuff, have you seen Taylor's new Easter cupcake stamps? I will be getting them somehow come hell or high water. Thanks for the comments as always.

A beautiful quote....

Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things even if we do not get anything in return. It is the joy of our life to do them. When we do good things from this inner desire, there is kindness in everything we think, say, want and do. ~ Emmanuel Swedenborg

How true is this? The world needs more kindness. When I read this quote tonight I can't help but think of my sister Samantha. She is for sure the Queen of kindness.

Hey cupcake, are you out there??

Please excuse me if I already posted this card awhile back but I ran across the file tonight and I started to chuckle. This card was suppose to be for a friend but on the way to meet her for coffee one Sunday am I dropped it in my driveway. It got wet from the snow and ice and I ran over it twice. When I went to give it to her I couldn't find it and it was unbelievable. Anyway better late than never right? It was made on a Savvy notecard and I love their notecards. I hope to post a couple cards on Thursday from my classes last week. We are suppose to get a big snow storm so they say so I will be stamping all day. I may go to the POST OFFICE very early if I can get my packages ready for shipment. The PO is my home away from home. Take care now and so much for spring. Well it is MN after all and only still February. I'd like to thank all the lovely ladies that attended my class last Sat. in Little Canada. We always have fun at Caribou!! Stay warm. Tami :')

Its a NEW Release day at Elzybells UK!!

Have you heard the BIG news? Elizabeth from Elzybells UK has released several new adorable stamps!! My favorite is Just desserts !! I have always been a fan of her stamps and I want more. Click on the Elzybells link located on the lower right side of my blog and check them out. She is offering some fabulous blog candy although I want to win it!!

Elizabeth offers clear stamps made of high quality polymer as well as wooden ones. You can safely store the clear stamps on acetate sheets and in plastic CD cases.

They are really easy to use. Simply peel stamps off the carrier sheet and attach onto an acrylic block for stamping - no sponge or tape required! When you have finished stamping and have cleaned the stamp, simply peel off the acrylic block and stick back onto the carrier sheet. I got this information off the Elzybell website.

Thanks. I personally love all her girl STAMPS. I have quite a big collection of her adorable stamps but of course I want more. I'd especially love to win the blog candy. Thanks for reading this PUBLIC notice. Anything to help a good friend over in the UK!! Elizabeth you rock.

A GUY card with a cute little button!!

Today I thought I'd feature a guest artist Sherry and her cute little masculine card. I am not sure if the paper is from Basic Grey but regardless I love it!!. She taught me how to use faux thread on a button. Just cut a little sliver of paper and thread the button(s). Its really fun when there's four holes (oh my, that's what I called "advanced sewing")! Don't you just love her card? I do. Tomorrow I will post my MACHO card. Right now its in my trunk and I'm too lazy to go get it, scan it, and crop it. Have a super weekend. I'm teaching another card class tomorrow. Any takers?? If so, email me. Thanks to all the great ladies that came to my class today. We always have so much fun!! I hope my friend Sherry Baby will not mind I showcased her quick and easy guy card on the 'ole bloggie. I recently added two birthday classes at Smudges in March. I plan to update my class schedule this weekend. Do something fun. Tami...Peace out!!

ATC for Smudges!!

Here's my ATC for Wed. nite at Smudges. I've been making kits all day for the ATC group project I'm leading and for my upcoming Birthday classes this Friday and Saturday. I am dead tired right now so I can't get into all the details at this late hour on my ATC. I know I am suppose to be all about the details but trust me this little 2.5 x 3.5" ATC is very detailed. It took me forever to make 10. I started them on Valentine's Day actually at Archiver's. I hope you all have a great Wednesday. Goodnite. Tami...Main image is by Missy Ballance. I love her stamps!!
